On News Stands Now! Quiltmaker July/Aug 2009
With this issue we begin our 3 part easy mystery, Christmas Lights! The
quilt finishes at a nice lap/throw size and will finish with the
Nov/Dec issue, just in time for the holidays!
I just got a great email from June, the editor at Quiltmaker. She
writes:
"I wanted to let you know that I've got a live posting about Christmas
Lights, a Bonnie Hunter Offer, and a giveaway of your books! I
hope you have a chance to LINK
back to us!"
The link will take you to Quiltmaker Magazine's Blog, Quilty Pleasures
(Love the name!) where there are some really nice compliments of the
time I spent at Quiltmaker and the offices at CKMedia last July.
Leave a comment on the blog by noon on Friday, June 19th, and they will
select 5 people to win a free copy of my book Scraps & Shirttails!
What's not to like about that?

There is also a special offer of a 4 issue bundle:
Purchase the July/August 2009 issue of Quiltmaker
to start Bonnie Hunter’s exclusive Christmas mystery series and get
three additional Quiltmaker magazines also featuring Bonnie. You’ll
find three of Bonnie’s patterns plus the articles Scrap-User’s System
and Leaders & Enders along with many more patterns and techniques
in each issue. This 4-issue bundle is only $10.99! Click pic above for
more info!

Behind Her Scrappy Mind!
I have been asked so many times
how I plan my scrap quilts. I took several answers and thoughts
and put them together for you to check out. Click the link above!
Yes, that's our Double Delight Mystery center on my friend's longarm
rmachine. Though the mystery has been revealed, you can still make your
own version by following along with the steps beginning HERE!
In the future, to avoid
confusion, I believe the mysteries will be called CHALLENGES instead,
because it is impossible to keep a mystery unseen with so many blogs
and pictures floating around out there. Chances are , if you join us 3
weeks late, you've already seen the finished product! Sound good to
you? It does to me!
**Special Note!!**
You
are welcome to make quilts from these patterns for yourself, your
family, friends, guild fundraisers and raffles, and most of all,
charities! You may make quilts from these patterns to sell for a profit
(No mass production though) or to teach
a class*.
But
please, no
photocopying, or reproducing and packaging and marketing the pattern instructions with the intent to
make a profit by selling them.
Just
because they are free here for your use, doesn't make it legal to use
them in that way.
When in doubt, email me and ask. Be kind and keep
the creative spirit of quilting alive and give credit where credit is
due.
*If
you are teaching any of these
designs as a class, In lieu of having to purchase a pattern, I would
love for each of your students to make me a block of whatever quilt you
are teaching to be used in charity quilts! They may also include a 4.5"
signature square to be included in the back of the quilts. Together we
can make a difference!
If
you are
hosting a swap of blocks from Quiltville, would everyone consider
making one extra block and sending them to me with a siggie square? I'd
love to know who you are!
(That
goes for
any of you who find this site valuable as a quilter! Feel free to
make an extra block of whatever you are making! I'll be sure they are
made into quilts and given to those in need, No time to make a block?
An FQ will do! :c)
(This
is just a
suggestion, not mandatory!)
Most of all...HAVE FUN and enjoy the Quilting Journey!
***Important
info for Shops and Teachers***
Patterns
found on this site must NOT be sold.....They must be provided for free
to your students, and everything you print and hand out to your
students must include my copyright and website address.
I recently gave
permission to a shop to USE my Double Delight Mystery, not
intending to give them permission to charge for the pattern. My understanding is that they
are charging a fee for the pattern as part of a kit as well
as monthly fees to belong to the "club." In giving permission to
the shop, I never implied that they could charge for the use of this
pattern. The patterns found on this site are free.
I
want to be sure from now on that anyone who teaches, be it an
individual or a shop....knows that they may USE the patterns, but may
not CHARGE (beyond the cost of making copies to hand out) for something
that I have offered to the quilting world as a
gift.
Questions
or Comments? I would love to hear from you!!
