Shirttails!
Class Supply List

Finished Quilt size: 63" X 77"
3 different block designs combine to make a fun scrappy quilt in recycled fabrics with a primitive feel!

For this class you will need:

Book required:
Scraps & Shirttails Book. Pattern found on page 77. Please abide by copyright rules and do not xerox the pages for this class. I will be bringing books with me, or you can pre-order the book from the Quiltville.com website here.

Cost of book: $25.00

Fabric Requirements:
6 yards of assorted dark prints, plaids and stripes.  I used recycled fabric from clothing, but you may use any yardage you desire.  Bring what you like to work with!

2 yards of assorted light prints, plaids, stripes, and even muslin for block backgrounds. I mixed recycled fabrics with stash fabrics as my background.

Binding: 3/4 yard fabric of choice.  Don't commit too early! You might find something you like better later.

*Note* Though the pattern in the book is written with regular rotary cutting instructions, I love to use my easy angle ruler for half square triangles, and the companion angle combined with the easy angle ruler for flying geese units.  I will be demoing these rulers during class, so if you have always wanted to know how these work, bring them with you!

For those of you who like to do 1/2 square triangles with thangles,  we will be making 1/2 square triangles that finish in the following sizes:
  • 1.5"
  • 2"
  • 3"
Feel free to bring whatever tools YOU like to work with to achieve accurate units in these sizes.

General Supplies needed:

Sewing machine in working order (including power cords and extention cords)
Thread, scissors, seam ripper, pins and any other notions you usually sew with.
Rotory cutter, mat and ruler.

Irons and ironing boards should be provided by the guild. Personal pressing items may be okay to use at your workstation as long as the use of power won't trip the circuits in the building leaving the room (or half the room) without power! Please check with your workshop coordinators if mini irons are okay or not.

Looking forward to this workshop with your guild!
